A summer residency at Centre Est-Nord-Est in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli served as the basis for the LES INTRUS project. The project was then transplanted to the public space around Marché Bonsecour. The countryside, site of the residency, provided the context for research on and production of the works, and the city was the exhibition context. To capture the encounter and confrontation of these two sites required many trips back and forth between the two. In this displacement - this intrusion - of a proposal made in a rural milieu into an urban milieu, the artists question the power of the image to interact with its site of presentation, as, conversely, a site acts on interpretation of the image. To this initial reflection on the power of the image is added one on the natural or rural landscape and its relationship with the urban landscape.
In these six installations, these six readings of the landscape (photographic and videographic), image, impression, object, and even odour intervene. Disseminated in the urban maze, they are like new exposures or points of view calling out to passersby.
